Tip #1: Don’t use Google Plus; it’s just not happening!
#2: Choose two social media platforms and get REALLY good at them.
If you try to do everything you’re going to fail, focus on the two social media marketing tools that work for you and stick with them.
#3: Use an automated social media marketing posting service.
I’d rather spend an hour every two weeks coming up with some great content, posting it on a schedule, and then I don’t have to think about it for another two weeks.
#4: Leverage video.
Use video beyond just YouTube.
Use video on Facebook, on Instagram, even on Snapchat; it’s a great way to build a real relationship with the people that are following you.
Feel free to bust out your phone and just share yourself a little bit with the world.
#5: Listen to your audience.
Listen and engage with them, and ask them questions.
On YouTube, there’s a community tab that you can click on and post to your community. It’s a great way to get feedback on what people want to hear about from you.
And rather than making videos that you want to make, make videos that they want you to make. That’s how you start growing your channel and your business.
#6: Stay relevant.
If you’re making videos pretty regularly, I recommend you check out Google Trends, and if you’re making a video on the same day you’re releasing it, Google, Google Trends and you’re going to see all the things that are trending on any given day.
If something is trending right now and you can make a video about it, it’s going to be amazing, and you’re going to watch how much more quickly that video starts to gain momentum.
#7: Measure your return on investment.
I use an amazing software that I definitely recommend; it’s called Wicked Reports.
It helps you track where any and every click comes from, whether it’s YouTube or Facebook, or Instagram, and it tells you if those people click from those places for the first time to your website, and whether or not they buy something.
If you’re creating all of these videos on YouTube, are they actually worth your time and worth your while? And if they are, great, you can keep creating videos. If they’re not, then maybe it’s time to change up the format.
#8: Use paid advertising.
Unfortunately, it’s getting harder and harder to show up organically on Facebook and YouTube.
If you’re just starting out, it’s really important to use YouTube ads to boost your channel in the beginning, because it’s going to take a little bit of time for YouTube to decide that hey, this channel is actually legit and start promoting you organically.

#9: Stay frequent.
The way to win on social media is to stay frequent, give a lot of value and the more value you give, the more value you get from your audience.
#10: Tell your story.
People want to hear the raw side of who you are and what it is you’re going through.
If you just came up with a new product and it’s been really hard fulfilling orders, you’ve been staying up really late at night; it’s cool to talk about that on YouTube, it’s cool to talk about that on Facebook.
Your audience is going to like you even more because you’re real, and that’s what social media is all about right now.
#11: Have fun with it.
The way to succeed online and in social media marketing is to have a really good time with it, have fun.
If your audience sees that you’re enjoying yourself and you’re having fun, they’re going to have fun with you as well…no one wants to follow a suit on YouTube, they want to follow a person with a personality.
#12: Just get started.
Don’t wait for the perfect video, don’t wait for the perfect idea, don’t wait for the perfect post to get started with social media marketing.
Start putting stuff out there, get a little bit of response, and then iterate every single step of the way.
The more feedback you get, the more you’re going to improve, and you can’t get feedback unless you just put yourself out there a little bit.
